" O'Tama Monogatari " ( 2013 ) a movie about the life and works of O'Tama Kyohara Ragusa a japanese painter who moved to Sicily in Palermo and where she spent 51 years painting in a unique mixture between Eastern and Western traditions.
A very unique life at the end of 1800 and until the 1930's very romantic and fascinating.
O'Tama was the wife of the sicilian sculptor Vincenzo Ragusa who went to Japan to teach sculpture in Tokyo and introducing the western style in Japan.

This movie is the third chapter of a trilogy directed by Gianni Gebbia based on the mix and cultures crossings especial between Sicily and Japan but not only. The first two chapters are : " Asakusa no Brecht " ( Brecht in Asakusa 2011) and " Nanbanjin - The Barbarians from the South.
